Fundraising terms and conditions

Fundraising is regulated by law, so when fundraising for ARC please remember:

  • To give your best efforts to raise money for ARC. You are committed to raising at least the minimum sponsorship amount stated (if this applies to your event).
  • That you are medically and physically fit and understand that you take part in your event at your own risk. ARC cannot be held responsible for any injury or illness related to your training or during the event.
  • To notify ARC if you can no longer take part in your fundraiser, or if your fundraising event date changes or is postponed.
  • To make clear to those who support your fundraising that the money you raise for ARC will be treated as a donation and used for their work. You understand that donations are not generally refundable, even if you fail to take part in or withdraw from the event.
  • To fundraise in a way that does not endanger yourself or any supporters, and respect privacy and not fundraise in a way that could be considered aggressive towards the public.
  • To include ARC’s logo and registration numbers (114865) on promotional materials including your fundraising page, and make it clear you are fundraising in aid of ARC and that you do not represent the charity.
  • To seek approval from ARC before using their logo to promote your fundraiser.
  • That whilst you’re fundraising for ARC, you recognise that your actions will be linked to ARC and its cause. That you will not do anything to bring ARC’s name into disrepute.
  • Raffles and lotteries are a great way to fundraise, on their own or during an event. However, strict laws govern how they are run. Lotteries are in general regulated by the Gambling Commission.
  • To collect and pay to ARC all money raised through fundraising within two months of collection.
  • That your personal data will be processed in accordance with ARC’s privacy policy.

These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim that arises out of or in connection with them, are governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales. ARC is also registered with the Fundraising Regulator.

If you have any questions, please contact ARC’s Development and Partnership Officer: katy@arc-uk.org.

If you are running a community event to raise money for ARC:

  • Consider whether your venue is suitable for wheelchair users, people with mobility problems, impaired vision or hearing. Provide a first aid kit and put someone in charge of first aid.
  • If your event involves the public, make sure you have public liability insurance. Check with the venue as they may have insurance cover. Additionally,
  • You or the venue must have the necessary licences (music, sale of alcohol, late night etc.).  You can get a temporary licence from your local council – but give enough notice. You must ask their permission if you wish to hang signs or banners promoting your event.
  • You need to inform the police if you wish to hold an event outdoors.
  • If you plan to sell food, safety laws apply. Be aware of these and follow food hygiene procedures. Contact your local authority environmental health department for information.
  • Door-to-door collections need a licence from your local council. People under 16 are not permitted to collect door-to-door.ARC cannot take responsibility for any losses or farm made through my activity, or liability arising from your activity.
