ARC’s National Conference for Professionals – 4th October 2024

Diagnosis and Decisions – optimal care through antenatal testing and its consequences

We are excited to announce details of our in person conference for healthcare professionals! This will be held on Friday 4th October 2024 at the Hallam Conference Centre in London.

Just £10 for professionals, this conference is a key opportunity to hear from world-renowned experts on the latest developments in antenatal screening and diagnosis. We will also explore the parent perspective and discuss how we might ensure highest quality care when tests bring unforeseen or difficult news.

With a range of eminent speakers from around the UK, including a panel discussion on the psychological side of diagnosis, topics include:

  • Dame Professor Lyn Chitty on developments in prenatal genomics
  • Professor Jan Deprest on where we are with fetal surgery
  • Dr Laura McLaughlin on providing choice after diagnosis to parents in Northern Ireland

And our closing address will be from Professor Kypros Nicolaides, the Director of Harris Birthright Centre for Fetal Medicine.

The day will run from 9am – 5pm, including refreshment and lunch breaks. There will also be the opportunity to network and engage with exhibitors from the antenatal care and charitable sectors. See here for our provisional programme – please note that speakers may be subject to change.

Following hugely successful conferences in recent years, we know from feedback that this day has something to offer all those working in the field or with a research interest in this fast-moving and ethically-challenged area of healthcare (see here for a summary of our last face-to-face conference in 2022).

Please note: we are unable to offer this conference online so don’t delay in booking as tickets will go fast. We will run an online four country conference in 2025.
