In 2018 I fell pregnant with our first daughter, unfortunately she was diagnosed with skeletal displaysia and tetralogy of fallot and at 21 weeks we decided to end my pregnancy. It was a horrible time for us but we recognise how lucky we are with our two gorgeous girls.

Arc was the only charity I could find who talked about TFMR supportively and informatively – I regularly found comfort on their parent forum after we lost our daughter…. and they also provided much needed advice to my sister a few years later when she received challenging information at a scan too. Very happy to share that their outcome was positive and my niece is a very happy and healthy, and very cheeky toddler.

I completed the swim on Saturday and feel as high as a kite. It was a fantastic experience and am especially chuffed to have smashed my fundraising target. Thank you to all my friends, family and colleagues who supported me with donations and encouragement.

This was for our daughter Sophie, and all the scared parents sitting in consulting rooms not knowing what the answers are. Hope is out there and fingers crossed this money will help bring a bit of light in the darkest places.
