How your fundraising makes a huge difference

The difference you make

Having our members and supporters fundraise for us always means a lot. Whether you have used our services in the past, know someone who has, or simply want to raise awareness of TFMR and the work we do, we are always so grateful to have new members of #TeamARC!

Without the support of our fundraisers, we could not continue to provide support to anxious, expectant, and bereaved parents at a time when they need it most.

ARC fundraiser

I am so happy to have been able to raise these funds for such a great charity which is very close to mine and my wife’s hearts.

Why support ARC?

ARC is the UK’s only charity to provide impartial information and advice for expectant parents and healthcare professionals throughout the complex antenatal screening process. Our core mission is to ensure that all parents and parents can access information and support, and we support all parents’ decision-making, whether it be to continue with or, sadly, terminate a much-wanted pregnancy.

ARC does not find it easy to attract funding; it confronts some of the most difficult aspects of parenthood for both parents and health professionals. Because of this, we rely heavily on fundraising and donations. We are very grateful for every donation we receive. By raising money for ARC, you are helping to provide support for anxious, expectant, and bereaved parents for as long as they need it.

We can assure you that all money raised for ARC will be used effectively and will go towards the core costs of running our services, unless stated otherwise.

Spotlight on #TeamARC fundraisers:

  • Elaine and Steve walked 141 miles for ARC from Winchester to Canterbury Cathedral. They raised a grand total of £3,500 for ARC. They took on this challenge after their daughter received support from ARC.
  • Our Miles in March 2021 fundraisers raised a total of £41,000 for ARC, making it our most successful fundraising campaign to date! This came at an important time as we lost out on thousands the previous year due to the pandemic and the cancellation of fundraising events.
  • Karen made and sold Rainbow Scorpions in aid of ARC and raised over £1800. We are lucky enough to have one in the ARC office!

£500 provides one hospital unit with 250 ARC handbooks: for parents and professionals coping with the implications of a prenatal diagnosis. These highly-valued booklets include information on ‘Ending a pregnancy after prenatal diagnosis’, ‘Supporting you throughout your pregnancy’ and ‘Help for Fathers’, amongst others.

£1,500 provides three bespoke online training sessions:entitled Supporting Parents through Antenatal Screening and Diagnosis, these workshops are designed to help healthcare professionals provide the highest quality care in challenging circumstances.

£5,500 is the monthly cost to run our parent helpline: our expert staff answer calls and emails, providing a tailored advice and support service to over 6,000 people every year.
