ARC Christmas Appeal 2025
ARC’s 2025 Christmas Appeal: Breaking Down Barriers
Helping parents and healthcare professionals access ARC’s information, support and community
Christmas can be a time of sharing and togetherness. Yet we hear from many parents that this time of year can feel particularly isolating, as they face hugely tough decisions or struggle with grief.
This Christmas, we’re asking for your help to break down the barriers preventing families, and the professionals caring for them, from accessing clear, compassionate and inclusive information. Many parents receiving unexpected test results, making a decision about the future of their pregnancy or grieving a baby loss, struggle to find support in a format they can connect with or an experience that resonates with their own.
Your donation to ARC’s appeal can help our families feel less alone. Can you help us raise £5,000 this Christmas?
Why your donation matters
We know that different people around the UK appreciate ARC’s diverse range of support services, as we hear regularly how our range of resources helps individuals, couples and communities:
“I valued the information on the website immensely in the early days and now find the face-to-face meetings a useful place to help me process my experience. I also like hearing other people’s stories. It makes me feel less alone and helps me contextualise what happened.”
For some, written material can seem overwhelming, but they feel connected to our parents’ real-life stories and films. For others, filmed stories feel too raw, but they value speaking to ARC helpline staff on the phone, text or email, or contacting our volunteers for sustained support. For busy NHS professionals, many lack the time and budget to access our core training in person and so value our online workshops or bespoke local options.
What your donation will support in 2026
This Christmas, ARC would like to raise £5,000 to ensure that we can remove these obstacles by:
- Updating our support publications for parents, including new translations.
- Promoting our new Clearvoice translator service to ensure that more families wanting support in a language other than English can access our support.
- Developing our parent films and written stories, to introduce ARC’s services and profile a wider range of experiences throughout the antenatal screening process.
- Continuing to offer multiple ways to contact us, from phone call to email, SMS and Live Chat.
- Planning bespoke training and resources to ensure all UK professionals are offered tools to help families. This includes in-person and online options, and a specialist project developing new training for community midwives across Wales, especially in rural areas.
We would love to raise £5,000 to share and improve our services this Christmas. Every donation – big or small – brings us closer to our national aim to support every individual and community.
Just:
- £5 pays for the helpline to support one anxious parent or couple
- £10 pays for one Clearvoice translation, meaning that a parent who doesn’t speak English can receive our support as they navigate unexpected pregnancy news
- £50 helps fund the filming of a new parent story, to be published online
- £100 pays for our Wales Coordinator to travel and facilitate bespoke training for community midwives
Any amount will make a difference. Together, we can make sure no one faces important decisions or worrying moments alone and can receive ARC’s clear, compassionate support.
