Baby Loss Awareness Week 2019

Baby Loss Awareness Week is an annual event that takes place between 9-15 October. Throughout the week, bereaved parents and those who are close to them unite with each other to commemorate the lives of babies who died during pregnancy, at or soon after birth and in infancy.

ARC is proud to be a member of the Baby Loss Awareness Week Alliance. We work together with other charities and organisations to raise awareness of the key issues surrounding baby loss.

If you would like to join us and help raise awareness of baby loss, here is how you can get involved:

Buy a Baby Loss Ribbon Pin

You can buy the Baby Loss Ribbon Pin directly from ARC to support those affected by baby loss all over the UK.

*Max 5 Pins per order*

Take part in the Wave of Light

At 7pm on 15 October, Baby Loss Awareness week will end with the international Wave of Light. To take part, all you need to do is light a candle at 7pm and leave it burning for an hour, in remembrance of all the babies who have died too soon. You can also be involved in a digital Wave of Light by posting a photo of your candle on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, using the hashtag #WaveofLight.

Turn the UK Pink and Blue

Can you help turn the UK Pink and Blue this October to raise awareness for Baby Loss? If you work in or know of a building or landmark thats illuminated at night, why not approach it to see if it could turn Pink and Blue from 9-15 October.

Click here for more information, including a map of buildings and landmarks that are already turning Pink and Blue this October, and a handy email template that can be used to approach companies.

Other ways to get involved

If you would like to know more about other ways in which you can be involved in Baby Loss Awareness Week and help to raise awareness, including how you can share your experiences of good care following a loss, you might like to visit the Baby Loss Awareness website.
