Fundraising
It is very difficult to find funding for a charity like ARC, so we rely heavily on the efforts of our fundraisers for the resources we need to be able to continue to give information and support to parents.
By fundraising for ARC, you will ensure parents are not in the position of having nowhere to turn for impartial support and information when there are difficulties in their pregnancy.
Fundraising for ARC can be as easy as making a single or regular donation to ARC. However, you might want to get more involved and take part in an event for ARC. Taking part in a fundraising event is great fun and gives an enormous sense of achievement to those involved.
For a charity as small as ARC, your help is vital
Thinking about holding your own fundraising event but not sure where to start? Look at our A-Z of Fundraising Ideas for a little inspiration.
And why not have a look at our Fundraising Information Pack, which contains useful information about how to maximize your fundraising, involving the local press, the legal issues involved in fundraising, as well as ARC sponsorship forms and customizable posters.
To help you reach your fundraising target, here are some sample letters to potential donors, which you can tailor to your event.
If you are planning to hold a raffle or lottery to raise money for ARC, there are some things you need to bear in mind. This information sheet can tell you more about them, or you can visit the Gambling Commission website.
We can also provide you with the ARC logo if you wish to use this in your publicity material, or we can write a letter of approval for you to give to potential sponsors. If you would like or this, or if you need any more information or advice about fundraising for ARC, you can telephone us on 0207 713 7356 or email info@arc-uk.org.
Profile raising
You can still help ARC without getting involved in fundraising, by helping us to raise our profile. Though ARC is a very small charity, it supports parents and health professionals throughout the UK and abroad. As well as giving non-directive information about antenatal testing, we are unique in providing a specialised range of support resources, a lifeline for those with an affected pregnancy.
When a pregnancy goes well, there are lots of resources and support services for expectant parents. However, when there are problems in a pregnancy, it becomes very difficult for parents to know where they can find unbiased information and support. While many hospitals do know about ARC, and pass on our information to parents who are facing problems, we want to ensure that all parents are given our details when they need them.
You can help expectant parents in this situation by raising ARC’s profile
- You can help simply by forwarding ARC’s website address to someone, or giving a link to the ARC site on your own website www.arc-uk.org
- Or, you might like to purchase some of ARC’s Parent Handbooks for your local hospital
