Another Pregnancy

The loss of a baby is a physically and emotionally traumatic experience. Both you and your partner will need time to recover. You will never forget your baby, and you need to grieve in your own way and time.

Deciding to become pregnant again can be a source of great hope, but it can also be emotionally complicated and painful. Parents can feel a great conflict between treasuring memories of the baby who died, and wanting to have another, healthy baby. The timing of another pregnancy can be an important influence on these difficult feelings.

This booklet has been written to help you think about some of the issues around becoming pregnant again, and some of the questions you might face during another pregnancy. It talks about practical things as well as some of the emotional difficulties.
